Hey, it’s Wednesday again. That’s means it’s time for book hooks.
I’ve got another little snippet of one of my sexiest romance so far, Winning the Bet. The first time the readers experience the heroine and hero together.
“Fridays are always so dreadfully slow. It makes the day go a bit faster,” Phillip declared. “And it’s harmless fun.”
“Then why don’t we ever bet on something different? Like who will get the strangest guy or the oldest woman?” Maggie shook her head. “Or the most frightened, dependent child or skeletal-thin girl?” She glanced at Phillip. “Or the prettiest girl?”
“Well, what would be the fun of that?”
“Oh, Phillip, you will never get it.” Karen snorted at the man before staring hard at Maggie. “And you are so…unbelievable. Your divorce was final six months ago.” She moved closer to the desk and leaned over her. “Hell, your marriage was over for a year before you even filed for divorce.”
She didn’t want to think about that. Maggie didn’t want to think of her marriage at all. She was just glad she’d never had a child with the bastard. “I shouldn’t have ever married him.”
“Maybe not,” Karen said. “But that has nothing to do with the sexy guy out there.”
Maggie swallowed down bitterness as she slid from her stool and walked through the lab toward the opened door. She peeked into the waiting area, spying the man in question sitting in one of the black chairs near the middle. One man sat in a seat opposite the doorway and two older gentlemen and one woman sat at the farthest end. The younger man moved and she refocused her attention on him. Wide shoulders filled the expanse of his seat, one hard, tanned arm lay on the side of his chair, while the other lay in his lap. Both hard-muscled legs stretched out toward the empty chairs in front of him.
Got her staring. Interested? (I hope you are maybe a little bit.) Here’s where you can get the book.
And what about reading some other #MFRWHooks?
