Interview with all the authors
Within hours of going live, your book was one of Amazon’s top Movers and Shakers. Why do you think readers are so taken with this romantic suspense set?
Jill Sanders: With the line-up we have, how could they not jump at the chance to get 10 great books for that price. I think we have some top-notch authors and books included and the readers seem to agree.
Patricia Rosemoor: Ten authors who all have achieved success on their own have chosen to work together to give readers an outstanding array of romantic suspense offerings — nine novels and a bonus Christmas novella — for a stunningly low introductory price.
Debra Burroughs: The cover is eye-catching and the deal is impressive. When you see that you can get 10 romantic suspense tales from 10 bestselling authors, all for only 99 cents, why wouldn’t you pick up a copy?
Where do you find the inspiration for the steamy, sexy alpha heroes in your books?
Lori Ryan: Sometimes I grab characteristics from the men in my life, but other times I just see something in a guy having coffee or a man I see walking down the street that draws me. I’ve been known to surreptitiously snap a picture of a guy with my phone because there’s something about him that I want to remember for a book. My husband just loooooves it when I do that!
Toni Anderson: Physically I use actors or models as faces for my heroes. Not always runway models but also guys from LL Bean etc. It’s like casting a character–i.e. if someone had to play this hero in a movie, who would it be? I get my inspiration for the personalities of these alpha heroes from reading news stories and autobiographies of men who lead extraordinary lives. My TBR pile is a mix of romance and hard-core non-fiction military / cop/ FBI agent autobiographies.
Kaylea Cross: From the military! I love doing my research, and through it I’ve learned so many new and interesting things about branches of the military I never knew existed.
Can you give any aspiring writers some advice?
Dana Marton: Don’t make your characters too perfect. Flaws make them more human and relatable.
Marie Astor: Write about what you love and be passionate about it. If you’re not passionate about your story, it won’t grip your readers. If you create characters you care about, the readers will sense it and will want to read your story.
Tell us about the Alpha in your book!
Rebecca York: A killer CEO, Jordan Campbell finds himself in a unique situation. Someone in his family has tried to kill him. Now he’s in a coma and more helpless than he’s ever been in his life. But when psychic Hannah Andrews walks into his coma dream, he doesn’t know if he can trust her. Yet she may be the only person who can wake him up and save his life. At the same time, trying to help him has put her in danger. Now he’s the one who has to save her—if he can wake up in time to do it.
Sharon Hamilton: SO (Special Operator) Calvin Cooper is tall 6’4” and quiet. He spent his youth under trucks and tractors as a farm boy from Nebraska. He has a natural need to be frugal, so pockets his housing allowance and lives by the beach in the Babemobile, which is not only handy for picking up girls at the beach, but saves him money. He also can fix or rig up anything. He’s a medic, also by training, and could have been a vet. He could have been an Olympic swimmer, but never grew up by a pool or the ocean, and hired a coach to teach him and discovered he had world class talent. He doesn’t drink (for a reason) and is very popular with the ladies.
