My current work in progress is finished.
Finally!
Although everything that could happen to a person, happened to me this past month or so, I’ve managed to put ‘the end’ to The Pale Moon. Not even a horrible rejection, a broken furnace in the RV, car trouble, and a husband who talked and talked and talked because [...]

This Time it Really Hurt
Posted in Uncategorized, tagged hurting, publishing, rejection, The Wild Rose Press, writing on January 26, 2008 | 3 Comments »
I checked my e-mails and found one from The Wild Rose Press.
A rejection.
Of course it’s not my first, yet this one really hurt. It was a rejection for one of the books I’d previously contracted for with another epublisher. That particular publisher closed up shop for new releases and I regained the rights to the book. [...]

The Pale Moon is almost done. I have to finish up one scene where Jessie finds out who her birth father is and redo two or three scenes already written to fit in with the new ending of the book before I can get to the last part.
I’m getting excited!
But I’m also getting so sick [...]

…so The Wild Rose Press is releasing a special book tomorrow, to benefit St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. Usually they don’t release books on Monday, but for this one they decided to change their format. “On the Run”, a full length Crimson Rose novel, is by Judith Rochelle. Starting tomorrow it’ll be available in electronic format [...]

How long does it take to find out if you’ve sold a romance anyway?
“If Promises were Kept”, a contemporary romance, has been at The Wild Rose Press since September 30, 2007 when I first submitted the query and synposis to the publisher. On October 1, 2007, I received a response from the Editor-in-Chief, Rhonda Penders, [...]

Whether or not you want to believe it, no author has a completely original idea for a book.
Within the past year I’ve found out two (Yes, two different ones.) authors have books out with a storyline a lot like one of my finished, yet still uncritiqued m/s and one of the WIP(works in progress) I’m working [...]
Maybe I Should’ve Told Them

I just finished checking my e-mail, and I still haven’t received the one from The Wild Rose Press editor I’ve been waiting for.
Oh, well, there’s always tomorrow.
Maybe tomorrow will be the day my dreams come true (again). I hope so because I sent the first three chapters of “If Promises were Kept” to the editor [...]
A Pale Moon–Should I or shouldn’t I?

So how is my current project going? The only good thing to say about it is it’s almost finished.
Well, there is one other good thing, I’m actually writing it again. A page at a time. I am writing, at least. But I’m not sure if I want to finish it. Two other romances are fighting [...]

Because finishing and selling a book isn’t the end of the road for a romance writer nowadays, I’m a member of a few different Yahoo writing groups. For both promotional and on-line friendship reasons, we writers need to be on top of things. One of these (many) groups is called Love Romance and More Cafe. Everyday this [...]
